increased in duration for the following rivers in Illinois...
La Moine River at Colmar affecting Hancock and McDonough Counties.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...La Moine River at Colmar.
* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon to late Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Water affects a few houses near the
McDonough and Schuyler county line.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:45 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 12.7 feet and rising
rapidly.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 23.6 feet early Friday
afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday
morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
The next statement will be issued by late Thursday night at midnight
CDT.
