Strong wind gusts up to 50 mph are expected to persist through the afternoon hours today. Localized stronger wind gusts of more than 50 mph will be possible as the result of sprinkles or brief showers moving through this morning into the afternoon. This will lead to patchy to areas of blowing dust and reduced visibilities between 1 to 3 miles.

Relative humidity values will drop to 25 to 30 percent range this afternoon. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts to up to 35 mph are forecast. The winds combined with the low humidity and dry fuels will bring another day of near-critical fire weather conditions. Any fire that does develop has the potential to quickly spread. Strongest winds through this morning. * WHERE...Beartooth Foothills and Livingston Area. * WHEN...Until 9 PM MDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Gusty crosswinds will make travel difficult along Interstate 90 from Livingston to Big Timber and roads along the Beartooth Foothills. Warm, dry and windy conditions could cause rapid fire spread. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution and consider postponing travel

An area of showers and a few thunderstorms are moving north- northeast from near Carrington up thru Devils Lake area to Cando and toward Langdon thru mid morning. Conditions are such that brief strong wind gusts 55 mph may occur as these showers move through.

At 546 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles southwest of Harvey to 6 miles southeast of Hurdsfield to 5 miles northwest of Robinson. At 542 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10 miles north of Sterling, or 22 miles northeast of Bismarck, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Menoken, Wing, Sterling, Mckenzie, and Arena. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

At 505 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking gusty showers along a line extending from 10 miles north of Ideal to 3 miles west of Springview. Movement was east at 15 mph.
