* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Northern Park County in central Wyoming... * WHEN...Until 615 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 308 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Sulphur Creek, Hoodoo Peak Drain, Jaggar Creek, Spring Branch, Trail Creek, Russell Peak Drain, Reef Creek, Russell Creek, Sunlight Creek, Corral Creek, Company Creek, West Fork Little Sunlight Creek, Temple Creek, Lodgepole Creek, Windy Mountain Drain, Little Sunlight Creek and Gravelbar Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
