Northeastern Nelson County in central Virginia...
Southwestern Albemarle County in central Virginia...
* Until 445 PM EDT.
* At 413 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles southeast
of Afton, or 12 miles southeast of Waynesboro, moving southeast at
20 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches
to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as
damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by
downed trees. Localized power outages are possible.
Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.
* Locations impacted include...
Schuyler, Covesville, Faber, North Garden, Batesville, and
Greenfield.
Instruction:
Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay
away from windows.
