* Until 1245 AM EDT.
* At 847 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 3 inches of
rain have fallen already this afternoon, with 1 to 2 inches of
that occurring in the last hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1
to 2 inches are possible in the warned area as more storms move in
from southeast Kentucky. As such, flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Norton, Wise, Jonesville, Big Stone Gap, Pennington Gap, Coeburn,
Appalachia, St. Paul, Dungannon, St. Charles, Duffield, Jasper,
Dryden, Pattonsville, Fort Blackmore and Castlewood.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
