* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of west central Virginia, including the following independent city, City of Roanoke. * WHEN...Until 845 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 443 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and locally 1.5 inches of rain have fallen since 4 PM. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area.
