Description:
At 543 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 16 miles northwest of Hooper to 10 miles northwest of
Grantsville to 11 miles northwest of Dugway English Village, moving
east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Grantsville, Dugway English Village, Great Salt Lake South of the
Causeway, Delle, Skull Valley, Tooele Army Depot, Dugway Proving
Ground Test Range, Great Salt Lake North of the Causeway, and Hat
Island.
This includes Interstate 80 in Utah between mile markers 63 and 91.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
If on or near the Great Salt Lake, get away from the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. remember, lightning can strike out to
15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
