Description:
At 507 PM MDT, Strong thunderstorms which produced intense rainfall
over primarily Chute and Crack Canyons have since dissipated, but
between 0.25 and 0.75 inches of rain fell over a very short amount
of time. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of slot canyons and
normally dry washes.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Goblin Valley west to Little Wildhorse Canyon. The heaviest
rainfall has occurred over Chute and Crack canyons.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
