The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 478 Salt Lake Desert. * THUNDERSTORMS...Widely scattered dry thunderstorms are possible across northwest Utah Saturday afternoon and evening. * OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty and erratic outflow winds in excess of 40 mph are possible near thunderstorms and areas of virga. A few gusts may approach 60 mph. * IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected. Any new fire starts or existing fires may spread rapidly.
