Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Portions of central and southern Utah, including the
following counties, in central Utah, Piute. In southern Utah,
Garfield.
* WHEN...Until 815 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 559 PM MDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain due
to thunderstorms causing flooding at and around SR-22 Mile
Marker 1. Minor flooding is already occurring. Between 1 and
2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Antimony.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Dry
washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
