* Until 445 PM EDT.
* At 405 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near
Surgoinsville, or 12 miles southwest of Gate City, moving southeast
at 25 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

Johnson City, Kingsport, Jonesborough, Surgoinsville, Spurgeon,
Colonial Heights, Gray, Oak Grove, Midway, and Church Hill.

Interstate 26 in Tennessee between mile markers 1 and 20.
Interstate 81 in Tennessee between mile markers 39 and 64.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning
is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
