Description:
At 846 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Hampton to near Jonesborough to 6 miles north of
Greeneville, moving southeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Johnson City, Greeneville, Elizabethton, Erwin, Rogersville,
Jonesborough, Tusculum, Banner Hill, Central, and Spurgeon.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 26 in Tennessee between mile markers 10 and 43.
Interstate 81 in Tennessee between mile markers 22 and 54.
Instruction:
Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from
windows.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
