* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE...A portion of east Tennessee, including the following counties, Cocke, Jefferson and Sevier. * WHEN...Until 430 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 154 PM EDT, the public reported flooding in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Morristown, Sevierville, Newport, Gatlinburg, Dandridge, Pigeon Forge, White Pine, Baneberry, Parrottsville, Pittman Center, Fairgarden, Bird Crossing, Chestnut Hill, Harrisburg, Cosby, Hartford, Bybee, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Elkmont and McMahan. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
