Description:
At 806 PM MDT, automated weather station observations confirmed a
line of strong thunderstorms extending from 10 miles northeast of
Marcus to near Kyle North Route Housing, or extending from 17 miles
southwest of Faith to 31 miles northwest of Martin, moving east at 15
MPH.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 MPH and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Automated observations.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Philip, Kyle, Wall, Potato Creek, Wanblee, Milesville, Interior,
Wasta, Scenic, Plainview, Quinn, Enning, Owanka, Elm Springs,
Creighton, Grindstone, Cactus Flat, Bridger, Cedar Pass and
Wicksville.
This includes Interstate 90 in South Dakota between Mile Markers 86
and 148.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

observations to the National Weather Service office in Rapid City via
