Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina...
Dorchester County in southeastern South Carolina...
* WHEN...Until 615 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 430 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with
torrential rainfall extending from Delemar Crossroads into parts
of West Ashley. As much as 2 to 4 inches of rain have fallen
across inland portions of lower Charleston County with lesser
amount elsewhere. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall
through 615 PM and extend back into Downtown Charleston through
the period.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, Johns Island,
Downtown Charleston, James Island, Daniel Island, Hollywood,
Ravenel and Sullivan's Island.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
