Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina...
Dorchester County in southeastern South Carolina...
* WHEN...Until 445 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 315 PM EDT, Doppler radar thunderstorms with torrential
rainfall extending from Delemar Crossroads through West Ashley
into Downtown Charleston. Up to an inch of rain has already
fallen in some areas and an additional 1 to 2 inches could fall
through 315 PM, resulting in minor flooding of low-lying and poor
drainage areas. If heavy rainfall intensifies, then a Flash Flood
Warning may be needed for some locations.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, Johns Island,
Downtown Charleston, James Island, Daniel Island, Hollywood,
Ravenel and Sullivan's Island.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
