Description: 
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina... * WHEN...Until 815 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 518 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Thunderstorms are developing around the City and will impact Downtown Charleston over the next 60 to 90 minutes. Intense rainfall will product hourly rainfall rates in excess of 1 inch per hour. Minor flooding of roadways can be expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mount Pleasant, Downtown Charleston, West Ashley, Charles Towne Landing, Medical University Of South Carolina, Marion Square, Columbus Street Terminal and The Citadel.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Report flooding directly to the Charleston National Weather Service at 1-888-383-2024 or email your reports to nws.charlestonsc@noaa.gov.
