Description:
At 520 PM AST, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong
thunderstorms over Juana Diaz, moving south at 5 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 30 mph. Funnel clouds are possible.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Ponce, Coamo, Santa Isabel, Juana Diaz, Villalba, Guayabal, Luis
Llorens Torres, Aguilita, Potala Pastillo, Capitanejo, Coto Laurel,
Las Ollas, Los Llanos, Rio Canas Abajo, Playita Cortada and El Ojo.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
