Description:
At 148 PM AST, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong
thunderstorms over Miranda, or over Morovis, moving northwest at 10
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 30 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Florida, Manati, Ciales, Barceloneta, Morovis, Vega Baja, Corozal,
Pajonal, Imbery, La Luisa, La Alianza, Barahona, Coto Norte,
Franquez, Miranda, Bajadero, Monserrate and Bufalo.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
