Storm intensity was 150 mph. .SITUATION OVERVIEW... Super Typhoon Champi (29W) continues westward away from Guam coastal waters with the eye fully obscured by cloud cover in latest visible satellite imagery, as it looks to be going through an eyewall replacement cycle. Heavy rainbands extend outward roughly 100 miles east of the center to the edge of western Guam coastal waters, with additional bands roughly 250 miles and 400 miles outward to the east and southwest. Locally heavy showers continue to move north-northwest across Marianas coastal waters along the outer periphery of Champi, and continue to produce near-gale to gale-force gusts, as fresh to strong southeast to south winds persist in the wake of Champi.
Instruction:
Remain in suitable shelter until the all clear has been given. Passing showers may still produce sudden, gale-force wind gusts. Pay attention for possible road closures and stay away from downed power lines. Listen for any boil water alerts. Mariners should check the latest coastal waters forecast before making any definite plans.
