Description:
At 539 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles south of
Sterling, or 25 miles east of Bismarck, moving southeast at 50 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. At 530 PM CDT, a 75 mph wind gust
was reported 2 miles east of McKenzie.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Napoleon, Steele, Tappen, Menoken, Sterling, Dawson, Braddock, Lake
Isabel, Driscoll, Mckenzie, Crystal Springs, Kintyre, Moffit,
Streeter Memorial and Beaver Lake State Park.
Instruction:
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm has produced widespread
damaging winds and is capable of producing large hail.
