At 1006 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Northwest, or 9 miles south of Great Bridge, moving southeast at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down small trees and blow around unsecured objects. Wind impacting handling of high profile vehicles. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. This strong thunderstorm will be near... Chesapeake and Northwest around 1010 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by this storm include Belcross, Snowden, Tar Corner, Gregory, Sharon, Munden, Barco, Coinjock, Riddle, and Waterlily.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for northeastern North Carolina...and southeastern Virginia.
