Description: 
At 503 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Regent University to near Back Bay to near Moyock. Movement was east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. Frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes. Locations impacted include... Virginia Beach, Currituck, Regent University, Chesapeake, Back Bay, Fentress, Princess Anne, Moyock, Knotts Island, South Norfolk, Rudee Heights, Portlock, Sigma, Pungo, Greenbrier, Dam Neck, Snowden, Mount Pleasant, Sandbridge Beach, and Oceana NAS.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
