At 547 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over White Plains, or near Mount Airy, moving north at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Mount Airy... Fairview... Flat Rock... Dobson... Ararat... Cana... and Bottom.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for southwestern and west central Virginia.
