Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following
counties, Alleghany NC, Surry, Wilkes and Yadkin and southwest
Virginia, including the following county, Grayson.
* WHEN...Until noon EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. River or stream flows are elevated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 943 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is already occurring in
the advisory area. Between 1 and 8 inches of rain have
fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Big Warrior Creek, Beaver Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Big Bugaboo
Creek, Big Sandy Creek, Bee Tree Branch, Brush Creek, Arnold
Branch, Bussels Creek and Big Pine Creek.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports
