* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following counties, Alleghany NC, Surry, Wilkes and Yadkin and southwest Virginia, including the following county, Grayson. * WHEN...Until 800 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 549 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Big Warrior Creek, Beaver Creek, Bee Tree Branch, Beaverdam Creek, Arnold Branch, Big Pine Creek, Big Bugaboo Creek, Bussels Creek, Brush Creek and Big Sandy Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
