At 321 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 4 miles north of
Newton, or near Conover, moving southeast at 10 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.
Locations impacted include...
Newton, Conover, Maiden, Claremont, Catawba, Startown, Bandys,
Oxford, Lookout Shoals Lake, and St. Stephens.
Instruction:
Prepare immediately for damaging winds. People outside should move
to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows.
