Description:
At 715 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Pittsboro to near Elon, moving northeast at 25
mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Chapel Hill, Burlington, Graham, Hillsborough, Pittsboro, Carrboro,
Mebane, Elon, Gibsonville, and Haw River.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 85 between Mile Markers 163 and 171.
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 140 and 162, and between Mile
Markers 259 and 269.
US 1 near Mile Marker 81.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
