Description:
At 608 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 5 miles east of Taylorsville to 9 miles northeast of
Hickory, moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Two inch hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind
damage to trees and power lines.
Locations impacted include...
Hickory, Statesville, Newton, St. Stephens, Conover, Granite Falls,
Bethlehem, Claremont, Catawba, and Lake Hickory.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
