* At 458 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 3 miles south of Beech Mountain to 8 miles north of
Spruce Pine to 8 miles south of Erwin, moving southeast at 55 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.
