At 206 AM EDT, Stream gauges show flash flooding is occurring along Little Sugar Creek in Meyers Park. High water levels are also shown along Briar Creek. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Uptown Charlotte, Central Charlotte, South Charlotte, East Charlotte, Northeast Charlotte, Southwest Charlotte, Northwest Charlotte, Matthews, Mint Hill, Harrisburg, The Plaza, Freedom Park, Hidden Valley, Southpark Mall, Reedy Creek Park, University City, Paw Creek, Charlotte Douglas Airport, Carowinds and Croft.
Instruction: 
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
