At 213 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6 miles west of Boomer, or near Elkville, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Taylorsville, Hiddenite, Kings Creek, Vashti, Millersville, Ellendale, and Little River In Alexander County.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for western and the Piedmont of North Carolina.
