Description:
At 158 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Raleigh, moving southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Raleigh, Cary, Smithfield, Garner, Clayton, RDU International, Apex,
Morrisville, Knightdale, and Wendell.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 283 and 326.
Interstate 440 between Mile Markers 1 and 16.
Interstate 540 between Mile Markers 4 and 24.
US 1 between Mile Markers 97 and 101.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
