Description: 
At 258 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Maxton, or near Laurinburg, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Lumberton, Red Springs, Pembroke, Maxton, St. Pauls, Rowland, Rex, Raemon, Shannon, Buie, Robeson Community College, Wakulla, Barker Ten Mile, Purvis, Prospect, Elrod, Parkton, Rennert, Lumber Bridge, and Raynham. This includes Interstate 95 in North Carolina between mile markers 8 and 38.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
