Description:
* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 8 to 10 feet expected in the surf
zone. Waves currently forecast to peak at 10 to 12 feet Sunday.
* WHERE...The beaches north of Cape Hatteras.
* WHEN...From 2 PM Saturday to 8 PM EDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is potential that high surf advisory
criteria could last through much of the upcoming work-week.
Instruction:
Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.
