* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following counties, Beaufort, Craven, Hyde, Pamlico, Pitt, Tyrrell and Washington. * WHEN...Until 645 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 342 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. These storms are generally moving southward across the advisory area. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Washington, River Road, Belhaven, Ransomville, Sladesville, Ponzer, Scranton, Blounts Creek, Pamlico Beach, Lowland, Sidney Crossroads, Bayview, Winsteadville, Core Point, South Creek, Bonnerton, Royal, Edward, Cox Crossroads and Leechville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
