Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of northwest North Carolina, including the
following county, Wilkes.
* WHEN...Until 500 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows
over low-water crossings. Overflowing poor drainage areas. River
or stream flows are elevated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 150 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Fish Dam Creek, North Prong Lewis Fork, Obids Creek, Fall
Creek, Little Fork, North Fork Reddies River, Little Fork
Creek, Middle Fork Reddies River, Mill Creek, Elk Creek,
Beaver Creek, Purlear Creek and Left Prong Stony Fork.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
