Description:
At 517 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Brasher, or near Massena International Airport - Richards Field,
moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Brushton, Massena International Airport - Richards Field, Malone
Village, Bombay, Moira, Fort Covington, Bangor, Brasher, Westville,
Massena, Constable, Malone, South Bombay, Akwesasne Mohawk
Territory, Hogansburg, Fort Covington Center and Ironton.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
