Description: 
At 450 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over New Baltimore, or 8 miles southwest of Nassau, moving north at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Albany, East Greenbush, Rensselaer, Nassau, Menands, New Baltimore, Ravena, Valatie, Castleton-On-Hudson, Kinderhook, Loudonville, West Sand Lake, Averill Park, Selkirk, Wynantskill, North Greenbush, Sand Lake, Coeymans, Stuyvesant, and East Nassau. This includes the following highways... Interstate 90 between exits 10 and 5A. Interstate 87 between exits 21B and 23. Interstate 787 between exits 1 and 6.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
