Description:
At 549 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near San Jon, or 18
miles east of Tucumcari, moving southwest at 15 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
San Jon, Wheatland and Bard.
This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 341 and 364.
Instruction:
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.
Motorists can expect brief but sudden changes in visibility and
ponding of water on roadways as storms move through the area.
