Description: 
At 339 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Eldorado At Santa Fe, Lamy, Galisteo, Canada De Los Alamos, Cerrillos Hills State Park, Los Cerrillos, Glorieta and Madrid. This includes the following highways... Highway 285 between Mile Markers 282 and 290. Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 286 and 300.
Instruction: 
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Turn around, don't drown. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Arroyos, streams, and normally dry rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes. Water in arroyos can travel many miles and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.
