Description:
At 515 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles northeast of Brantley Lake State Park, or 16 miles southeast of
Artesia, moving north at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Carlsbad, Artesia, Brantley Lake State Park, Avalon, Carlsbad North,
Seven Rivers Airport, Artesia Municipal Airport, Atoka, Lake Avalon,
Living Desert State Park, Dayton, and Lakewood.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
