Description:
At 257 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11
miles southeast of Raton, moving east at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Raton, Capulin and Raton Crews Airport.
This includes the following highways...
Highway 64 between Mile Markers 338 and 377. Interstate 25 between
Mile Markers 439 and 452.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
Motorists can expect brief but sudden changes in visibility and
ponding of water on roadways as storms move through the area.
