Description:
At 556 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Califon, or 17
miles northwest of Somerville, moving east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Morristown, Hackettstown, Morris Plains, Mendham, High Bridge,
Clinton, Peapack And Gladstone, Glen Gardner, Chester, Victory
Gardens, Hampton, Lebanon, Califon, Far Hills, Succasunna,
Succasunna-Kenvil, Long Valley, Annandale, Basking Ridge, and
Beatyestown.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 12 and 14, and
between mile markers 19 and 24.
Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 23 and 36.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
This severe thunderstorm may contain little or no lightning. Do not
wait until you hear thunder before taking cover.
