Description:
At 934 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Brigantine, or
10 miles northeast of Atlantic City, moving south at 45 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Barnegat, Tuckerton, Surf City, Brookville, Warren Grove, Bass River
State Forest, Penn State Forest, Beach Haven West, Mystic Island,
Manahawkin, and Ocean Acres.
This includes Garden State Parkway between mile markers 54 and 69.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move
indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers.
Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck
by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
