Description:
At 352 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Oxford, or 15
miles northeast of Easton, moving northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated. At 3:48 PM EDT, a trained spotter reported
penny sized hail near Pleasant Valley.
IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Dover, Hopatcong, Hackettstown, Wharton, Washington, Blairstown,
Mount Arlington, Stanhope, Netcong, Belvidere, Oxford, Hope, Glen
Gardner, Hampton, Andover, Brass Castle, Greendell, Long Valley,
Great Meadows-Vienna, and Allamuchy-Panther Valley.
This includes Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 9 and
33.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
