* At 1010 PM EDT, local first responders reported water rescues
occuring in Milford, New Jersey. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...First responders reported.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.
* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
Easton, Bethlehem, Forks, Wilson, Hellertown, Alpha, Ferndale,
West Easton, Milford, Bloomsbury, Riegelsville and Glendon.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 2...and
between mile markers 6 and 10.
Interstate 78 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 62 and 76.
Instruction:
Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
