Description:
* WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, southeast winds 10 to 20 mph with
gusts up to 45 mph. For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to
100 degrees expected.
* WHERE...Sheridan County.
* WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, until 4 AM MDT Monday. For the
Heat Advisory, until 2 AM MDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile
vehicles. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.
Instruction:
Monitor yourself and others for signs of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Signs include dizziness, thirst, heavy sweating, confusion,
weakness, and cramps.
Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
