Description: 
At 1227 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 29 miles northeast of East Helena to 17 miles west of White Sulphur Springs to 10 miles southeast of Toston to 6 miles southwest of Manhattan. Movement was east at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Automated Sensors. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Townsend, White Sulphur Springs, Belgrade, Three Forks, Manhattan, Toston, Fort Logan On The Smith River, Ringling, Fort Logan, Missouri Headwaters State Park, Newlan Creek Reservoir, Logan, Maudlow, Amsterdam, Trident, Church Hill, Menard, Madison Buffalo Jump State Park, and Goose Bay. Those attending the Red Ants Pants Festival are in the path of these storms and should prepare for IMMINENT DANGEROUS WEATHER CONDITIONS.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until these storms pass.
