* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Jackson County in southern Mississippi... * WHEN...Until 930 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 633 PM CDT, Earlier heavy rain has led to flooding and high water rescues in Latimer, D'Iberville, and Ocean Springs. Between 5 to 8 inches of rain fell earlier and even though the rain has stopped for now the water will be slow to recede. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Ocean Springs, Moss Point, Escatawpa, St. Martin, Gautier, Vancleave, Hickory Hills, Wade, Helena, Big Point, Hurley, Gulf Park Estates, Gulf Hills and Latimer. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
